and the high jump....

She also does the triple jump and the 4 X 100 relay. Her team took first place in the District so they were happy. (She placed either first or second on all her individual events.) I never thought a track meet would be all that exciting - but it was a lot of fun.
Of course yesterday was highway time. Kids were with their dad this weekend, so that meant lots of driving on Friday and again yesterday. Yes, I realize it was Mother's Day and they were supposed to be with me but his work schedule complicates things. We changed the schedule for May so that he would be able to spend time with Caleb and Conner. I wasn't thrilled and it kinda sucked to be away from the kids. Ok, so it REALLY sucked. Lucky for me - I have the world's best ever significant other. He spent the day just hanging out with me. We slept in, watched part of a movie, then went to visit my mom and picked out some plants at a nursery. (We took his mom out to dinner on Saturday evening. It was wonderful!)
I ended up having a really good day, even though the kids weren't with me until the evening. My pep talks to myself must have worked. Either that or maybe it was because Jim knew I was down and he made an extra effort to make sure I had some fun.
And just in case we weren't having enough fun - I found killer rabbit slippers! Monty Python fans rejoice! These are on the shopping list for Christmas!

Those are great pictures.
I was WITH my sons all day yesterday but they didn't even remember it was Mother's Day. Sigh.
